Participation in the 17th UEC Computer Go Cup
A student delegation from Yonsei University participated in the 17th Computer Go UEC Cup, hosted by the University of Electro-Communications (UEC) in Japan. The participation was organized as part of Yonsei University’s educational program, providing students with hands-on experience in AI-based game development and international competition.

Competition Results
A total of three student teams competed, represented by Jeeseun Baik, Seungmin Yum, and Somang Kim. Among them, Gaon AI won the Second Division (B League) Championship.
Gaon AI was developed by second-year master’s student Somang Kim, co-authored with her advisor Sounman Hong, and advised by AI scientist Won-yong Shin. The model features a modified architecture based on HongGo, which previously competed in 2022. This achievement reflects the successful integration of research, education, and applied AI development within the program.
