Research Overview

Research focuses on the responsible governance of digital technologies, including AI, and on improving organizational performance through the strategic use of digital tools. This work is conducted in part through the Center for Digital Governance, which also serves as a platform convening scholars, policymakers, and industry leaders to share insights and shape the future of digital governance.

Building an Inclusive AI Workforce in Asia

A cross-national initiative connecting governments, universities, and global partners

This project involves a cross-national research collaboration among Yonsei University, the University of Tokyo, and the Chinese University of Hong Kong. It is supported by the “AI Opportunity Fund: Asia-Pacific”, an initiative managed by AVPN— Asia's #1 social investment network—with support from Google.org and the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

Media coverage includes Chosun, Maeil Business, The Hankyoreh, Hankyung, Seoul Shinmun, and IT Chosun, as well as policy materials from the National Assembly.

The project connects academic research with real-world policymaking, engaging national ministries, legislators, and international stakeholders to address the challenges of AI-driven labor market transformation. Findings were presented at a seminar held at the National Assembly of Korea.

Digital Inclusion and Responsible AI:
Global Perspectives and Korea’s Role

Bridging global insights with Korea’s policy and practice

An international symposium co-hosted by Yonsei University and the Korean Association for Policy Studies, bringing together leaders from international organizations, global companies, government, academia, and industry to discuss inclusive digital transformation and responsible AI.

Featured speakers included Sangbu Kim (World Bank, Vice President for Digital and AI) and Wilson White (Google, Vice President, Global Affairs), who shared global perspectives on digital inclusion and responsible AI. The event also included participation from institutions such as NIA, the National Assembly Research Service, the Korea Institute of Public Administration, and NCSoft.

Media coverage includes Chosun, Dong-A, and leading Korean media outlets.
